You will actively participate in program planning, specifically for Camp RA, staff supervision, parent communication, and on-the-ground support of camp activities and instruction.

As Summer Program Lead Instructor, you will work closely with the Auxiliary Program Director to oversee daily camp operations while ensuring a safe, fun, and enriching experience for campers and staff alike. You will actively participate in program planning, specifically for Camp RA, staff supervision, parent communication, and on-the-ground support of camp activities and instruction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning, organizing, and scheduling of daily Camp RA activities.
- Supervise and support counselors and activity specialists to foster an engaging and cohesive team environment.
- Engage with campers throughout the day, ensuring they have a safe, fun, and memorable experience.
- Monitor and maintain safety protocols, including first aid procedures and emergency preparedness.
- Greet families at drop-off and pick-up, ensuring smooth transitions and positive interactions.
- Assist in managing camper behavior and communicate with parents regarding camper experiences as needed.
- Oversee camp logistics, including attendance tracking, schedules, and program materials.
- Step in to lead activities or substitute for absent instructors when needed.
- Help coordinate special events, field trips, etc.
- Address behavioral needs with campers, parents, and staff.
- Attend and actively participate in all staff meetings and training sessions.
- Assist in camp setup, cleanup, and end-of-week wrap-up responsibilities.
- Serve as a point of contact for staff, parents, and campers to help resolve day-to-day challenges.
Qualifications & Skills:
- At least two years of experience working with children (camp, education, recreation, or related field), camp leadership experience preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with campers, staff, and parents.
- High-energy, positive, and flexible attitude—able to adapt to a fast-paced summer environment.
- Ability to sustain energy throughout a full camp day and actively participate in all activities.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing schedules, materials, and logistics.
- Ability to handle camper behavior concerns and parent communications with
- professionalism and empathy.
- Enthusiastic, responsible, dependable, and calm under pressure.
Position Details:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Program Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:45 PM
- Position Dates: June 16 - July 25, 2025
- Summer Weeks: June 16-20, June 23-27, June 30-July 2, July 7-11, July 14-18, July 21-25
- Compensation: Competitive hourly rate based on experience ($25-$35 per hour)
- Seasonal, Full-Time Position
