Purpose and Position
Ther purpose of the Tire and Lube Technician is to have an ethical person with a good attitude, who is able to learn. He/She must be willing to learn from others as well as follow written and verbal procedures to service and repair vehicles. He/She must be willing to clean and maintain their work area and shop equipment to Company Standards.
Qualifications
All General Service Technicians must be able to clearly demonstrate their physical and mental ability to perform services as well as detailed minor repairs. They must conduct every aspect of their job in an ethical manner. They must have the ability to explain the work needed to the Service Advisor and to work well under pressure.
All general Service Technicians must meet or exceed the standards set by the industry recognized trade organizations. General Service Technicians must be TIA Certified within two years of being hired.
All General Service Technicians will be supplied with all the necessary hand tools needed to efficiently perform their duties. They must have the ability and willingness to attend training classes. All General Service Technicians must be able to work a minimum of 40 hours per week.
Areas of Responsibility
The technician's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, a dedication to the company's mission statement, to company profitability and 100% customer satisfaction. Also responsible for following the company policies and procedures as outlined here, in the employee manual and in task-specific procedures.
Must work well with others as a team toward a common goal. He/She will have all work checked by a journeyman technician before being turned in as completed.
Must commit to continuously educate themselves through industry recognized classes, seminars, and tests to keep up with changes in the industry and new vehicles.
Specific Duties:
- Immediate response to cleaning up spills
- Perform Oil and Filter Changes
- Perform Fuel filter changes
- Tire rotations, tire repairs, TPMS reset procedures
- Brake Inspections
- Maintenance Inspections
- Fluid exchanges / fluid flushes
- Headlight bulb / wiper blade replacement
- Follow procedures
- Clean up after themselves
- Keep shop equipment clean and in good working condition
- Us Identifix and Mitchel software for repair and service information
- Assist other technicians as needed
- Communicate needed up sells in a timely fashion, in clear writing
- Communicate with customers about specific problems / diagnosis, with help from the service avisor
Weekly
- Clean tools and toolbox
- Attend shop meetings as requires
- Dump trash and sweep / mop service bays
- Clean all Shop Equipment as needed
Monthly
- Throughly clean own service bays
- Review with supervisor / owner as set for in the performance review
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
