Job Overview
RidgePointe Country Club provides its members, their families and guests with outstanding services and facilities. The Club features an 18-hole championship golf course, tennis courts, swimming, and clubhouse for member entertaining, dining and banquets.
The Golf Shop Associate is responsible for customer check-in and tee sheet management, daily operation of the counter and related areas. Duties also include assisting with merchandising, inventory and fielding email and phone inquiries. The employee works with considerable independence and is responsible for making decisions requiring sound judgment and familiarity with golf industry standards/etiquette. Must be available on weekends. Prior golf shop experience is a plus but not required. *Golf privileges are included
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their inquiries to ensure a positive shopping experience.
- Operate the cash register and handle transactions accurately using the POS system.
- Stock shelves and maintain inventory levels, ensuring products are organized and accessible.
- Utilize retail math skills to assist with pricing, discounts, and inventory management.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing concerns and resolving issues promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shop area, including displays and checkout counters.
- Assist in training new staff members and supervise their activities as needed.
- Communicate effectively over the phone, demonstrating proper phone etiquette when handling customer calls.
Skills
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly demeanor.
- Basic math skills for handling transactions and stock management.
- Familiarity with cash registers and POS systems is preferred.
- Ability to work in a grocery store environment and understand retail operations.
- Competence in stock management and inventory control practices.
- Experience in supervising staff or leading teams is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with customers and team members.
