We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Veterinary Surgery Assistant to join our team in delivering top-notch surgical support to our patients.
Position Overview:
The Veterinary Surgery Assistant will work alongside our veterinary surgeons and medical team, assisting with surgeries, post-operative care, and ensuring that all instruments, supplies, and equipment are sterile, organized, and ready for use. This position requires someone who is passionate about animal care and surgery, with a keen eye for detail and a calm, efficient demeanor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians during surgeries, including prepping the surgical site, handling instruments, and monitoring patients under anesthesia/sedation.
- Ensure the surgical suite is clean, sterile, and well-organized.
- Provide post-op care, including monitoring vital signs and helping with recovery.
- Maintain accurate surgical records and patient notes.
- Monitor inventory of surgical supplies and equipment, ensuring proper stock levels, and relaying low inventory to the inventory manager.
- Educate clients on post-surgical care and answer any questions they may have.
- Be willing and able to lift a minimum of 50lbs unassisted.
Qualifications:
- Experience in a veterinary or animal care setting is preferred, but not required.
- Knowledge of basic surgical and medical procedures is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clients and team members is required.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and remain calm under pressure.
- A genuine love for animals and a strong desire to help them recover.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
