What are the responsibilities and job description for the CPRS substance use position at Ridgeview Behavioral Health Services?
RIDGEVIEW, a not-for-profit community mental health center, has an immediate opening for a part-time (40 hrs/wk) Peer Support Specialist for Morgan and Roane Counties to provide peer support to clients in our substance use disorder program. This position will be scheduled for regular business hours.

REQUIREMENTS
Applicant for this position must be a current or former mental health consumer with a minimum of two years of experience working in the mental health field or a Certified Peer Specialist (CPRS). A High School Diploma or GED at minimum. If not a CPRS, must be qualified and willing to obtain Peer Specialist Certification within one year of hire. Requires F endorsement on TN driver’s license.
JOB DUTIES
This position will assist and support consumer self-help, advocacy, and education about co-occurring mental health issues and resources. Through Peer Recovery Support, consumers develop their own program to supplement existing mental health services or provide an alternative to those services. Duties will include providing peer support, assistance in meeting program objectives, and co-facilitating mental health recovery groups (as needed).
