Purpose of Job
This position is responsible for assisting in food preparation and serving and maintaining a clean and sanitary condition in the kitchen and dining areas.
Job Functions
- Prepares and serves food for patients and cafeteria guests.
- Assembles and dissembles patient trays.
- Ability to perform cashier duties that include keying appropriate items for total purchase with applicable discounts.
- Washes, sanitizes and stores dishes.
- Assists with cleaning and maintenance of equipment and work areas.
- Practices and adheres to safety guidelines from the State Department of Health.
- Provides professional and courteous customer service to internal and external customers.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education/Work Experience
- Must be at least 15 years old
- Previous cashier/POS experience
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Accurately count currency and apply credit card payments
- Ability to meet and maintain the necessary background checks as aligned with position functions
- Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task and work independently and in a team
- Ability to complete basic mathematical problems
- Ability to understand verbal and written instructions in the English language and respond accordingly in order to complete job functions as mentioned above
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in food industry
- Previous experience in healthcare cafeteria
- Serv/Safe certified
- Customer service experience
- Previous cashier
