What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pulmonologist position at Ridgeview Medical Center Health System?
Purpose of the Job
Provide comprehensive medical care to patients with Pulmonary diseases and disorders. The Pulmonologist will evaluate and diagnose patients, develop treatment plans, and ensure appropriate follow-up care. This role will also monitor the progress of patients and make adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
Job Functions
- Provides direct care for clinical patients needing Pulmonary services.
- Develop treatment plans and ensure appropriate follow-up care
- Monitor the progress of patients and make adjustments to treatment plans as needed
- Perform bronchoscopy procedures.
- Administer medications and treatments to patients .
- Educate patients and family members about the diagnosis and treatment process
- Reviews patient's medical history while collecting, prioritizing, and synthesizing comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or situation.
- May provide care in an ambulatory clinic, inpatient or outpatient hospital setting.
Job Requirements
- Doctoral/Ph.D. level advanced degree in Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine or foreign equivalency from an approved school of medicine required and
- Completion of an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA) accredited Residency training program in Internal Medicine
- Completion of accredited Fellowship training program in Pulmonology required
- 0 to 2 years of demonstrated experience in the designated specialty required
- Licensed Physician - MN Board of Medical Practice required upon hire
- Basic Life Support
- Board Certification
- Drug Enforcement Agency Certificate upon hire required
