This casual position is responsible for providing diagnostic, evaluative, treatment, educational and follow-up services to clients with speech, language and swallowing problems of functional or organic etiologies.

Purpose of Job
This casual position is responsible for providing diagnostic, evaluative, treatment, educational and follow-up services to clients with speech, language and swallowing problems of functional or organic etiologies.
Job Functions
- Assesses speech, language and swallowing impairments.
- Establishes appropriate care plans and provides treatment interventions based on assessment findings.
- Provides thorough documentation of patient interventions based on standards of practice for Speech/Language Pathologists (ASHA), and policies and procedures of RMC and Rehab Specialties and Home Care.
- Communicates with appropriate persons (i.e. physicians, nurses, other health care professionals, staff, and insurance providers) to ensure that patient needs are addressed.
- Assists Clinic Services Assistant to assure that patient interventions are properly scheduled and billed for.
- Organizes treatment environment, tools, supplies, documentation, resources and procedures to maximize treatment effectiveness and efficiency.
- Provides professional and courteous customer service to internal and external customers.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Master's degree in Speech/Language Pathology
- Ability to work independently and organize tasks
- Ability to meet and maintain the necessary background checks as aligned with position functions
- Ability to exhibit flexibility, self-control and maturity in work and behavior
- Ability to promote Rehab Specialties services
- Ability to change work locations with or without prior notification in order to meet customer needs
- Ability to serve patients in a friendly and efficient manner
- Knowledge of basic computer functions and Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to respond appropriately to unpredictable situations and diverse patient populations
- Capable of making independent decisions with the use of good critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above
- Valid State of Minnesota registration as a Speech/Language Pathologist
- Valid Certificate of Clinical Competence issued by ASHA
- CPR Certification
