Job Description
The person in this position provides assistance to the faculty in the Practical Nursing, Associate Degree Nursing, and Medical Assistant programs during lab and simulation experiences. Under the supervision of the Dean of Nursing and Allied Health, the CLA-2 will also facilitate utilization of learning aids and resources available in the simulation centers for students.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES AND RESULTS
- Assist faculty with laboratory and simulation experiences
- Skills/Sim Lab Management- Preparation and Organization
- Skills/Sim Lab Management- Maintain simulation labs
- Other duties as assigned
WAGE: $21.57- $30.13/ per hour
Minimum Qualifications
- Post-secondary or industry certificate/diploma/degree or relevant licensure in nursing or medical assistant AND one year of teaching/tutoring experience.
Preferred Qualification
- BSN in Nursing or Certified Medical Assistant
- Knowledge of working with technical equipment, problem-solving/ maintenance of simulation equipment.
- Knowledge of college goals and Ridgewater College’s mission.
- Knowledge of Ridgewater College Nursing and/ or Medical Assistant Programs.
- Knowledge of nursing communications, English as a Second Language, computer skills, study skills, etc.
- Communication skills (verbal, written) are essential.
- Ability to learn to use simulation equipment, create moulage and support faculty as directed in simulation learning experiences.
- Ability to work independently in assisting students with lab resources.
- Knowledge of student support services such as career development and educational planning.
- Ability to work with administration, faculty, staff and agencies.
- Knowledge of the ADA and other legal and privacy issues.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb/balance.
- The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with assistance.
- The position may also require close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
