Qualifications
- Valid New Jersey instructional certificate with appropriate endorsements
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in education or a related field preferred
- Demonstrated experience in curriculum differentiation, enrichment strategies, or gifted education
- Knowledge of best practices in gifted education, including identification methods, social-emotional needs and adbance instructional strategies
- Ability to work collaboratively with classroom teachers, administrators and families
- Effective communication, problem-solving and organization skills
- Instructional Services - deliver instructional services to students identified for gifted and talented programming using research-based methods and design and implement enrichment and extension activities that promote critical thinking, problem-solving and creativity
- Collaboration and Support - collaborate with general education teachers to support the differentiation of classroom instruction and serve as a resource to staff and parents regarding the characteristics and needs of gifted learners
- Program Planning and Implementation - Assist in the indentification of studens for gifted programming in accordance with district policy and state regulations and maintain accurate records and documentation for identified students
- Professional Responsibilities - Participate in professional organizations devoted to the developments of cognitive ability and the needs of gifted learners and communicate with families regarding student progress and program opportunities
