Main Duties & Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage plant operations and customer service for production, maintenance, quality and shipping and receiving.
- Coordinate plant activities through planning with departmental managers to ensure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Develop and control profits, plans, and budget.
- Manage the daily operational relationships with key customers.
- Implement cost effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, manpower, wages and salaries.
- Manage capital asset maintenance.
- Establish and monitor overall plant performance for on-time delivery, production and quality standards.
- Provide leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives.
- Implements and maintains preventative maintenance programs.
- Ensures that there is daily, weekly and monthly structure around shop floor schedules, demand/supply plan, etc.
- Daily monitoring and tracking of production performance.
- Lead implementation of lean manufacturing techniques to support performance objectives.
- Provides direction, development and leadership to plant leadership team.
- Conduct daily production meetings, plant walkthroughs and safety compliance audits; implement corrective action as required.
- Ensure the operation meets environmental regulations and operating certificates; implement corrective actions as required.
- Regularly conduct Town Halls, staff meetings, round tables and other effective means of communication to ensure team members are well-informed about critical aspects of the business.
Qualifications
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, or business.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in manufacturing and warehouse leadership position.
- Experience with developing and implementing successful solutions for complex manufacturing and supply chain problems.
- Proven people management skills and ability to develop a team.
- Project management.
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
- Lean or Six Sigma experience preferred.
