POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Manager to oversee our payroll operations and equity administration. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of multi-state payroll processing, equity administration, and general accounting. This role will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, managing equity administration, recording payroll-related journal entries, performing monthly close activities and will also support the SOX and financial statement audits.
Salary Range $119,340 to $140,400
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Payroll Operations (ADP):
- Manage the semi-monthly, multi-state payroll process for ~165 employees
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll in compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Create and generate payroll related reports in ADP to support journal entry workbook schedules
- Maintain and monitor earnings and deduction codes used for payroll processing and the related GL account mapping on the ADP GL Report
- Stay current with federal and state payroll regulations, tax laws, and best practices, making recommendations for process improvements as necessary
Stock Administration (Fidelity):
- Manage equity administration, including the tracking and reporting of stock options, grants, semi-annual ESPP purchases, and other equity-related transactions
- Prepare ASC718 assumptions used for the equity grant valuation
- Perform Black Scholes valuation for new equity grants and awards
- Prepare analysis to record quarterly stock-based compensation expense for time based and RSU by dept
- Prepare analysis to record stock-based compensation expense for performance options and ESPP
- Manage the filing of Forms 3921 & 3922
General Accounting (SAP by Design):
- Prepare and record journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP
- Prepare monthly and quarterly payroll related accruals including but not limited to sales commission, bonus, time off, stock-based compensation expense, etc.
- Perform month-end and year-end close process activities including reconciliations for payroll/equity related accounts
- Ensure SOX compliance and assist in providing PBCs for quarterly review and annual audit
- Prepare payroll expense analysis and monthly and quarterly flux explanation
- Assist the department in complying with Rigels record retention policies and procedures
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- BS in Accounting with 7 years payroll processing experience; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Experience in ADP payroll system required.
- Experience at a publicly traded company required.
- Experience in stock option program administration preferred.
- Experience in general accounting financial close process.
- Proficiency in MS Office skills, primarily Excel.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills required.
- Able to work effectively across multiple functions.
- Must be able to prioritize responsibilities, handle multiple tasks & work independently.
- Candidate must be able to demonstrate the ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
- Must be detail-oriented and possess excellent technical, analytical, organizational and time-management skills.
