Riggs Cat is looking for a highly organized Logistic Support Specialist to oversee our transportation services. This role will involve regular interaction with salesmen, dispatchers, and customers to confirm deliveries and pickups, ensuring smooth and efficient logistics operations. The ideal candidate will proactively manage transportation challenges, resolve logistics issues promptly, and help maintain the high standards of service Riggs Cat is known for.
What you’ll do:
- Coordinate transportation services, schedule deliveries and pickups, and communicating with drivers.
- Work closely with salesmen and dispatchers to confirm logistics details and ensure timely service.
- Proactively identify and resolve logistics issues to prevent service delays.
- Develop and implement improved transportation policies and procedures.
- Process shipping documents, including bills of lading and equipment transport records.
- Manage budgets, process purchase orders, and handle payment administration.
- Monitor drivers' logbook entries and oversee payroll administration for transportation staff.
- Track and report delivery progress while ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Handle customer inquiries, assist with logistics planning, and escalate critical issues to management.
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, company policies, and safety standards.
- Manage invoicing to the stores.
Requirements
What you’ll need:
- Bachelor's degree in transportation management, logistics, business administration, or a related field (preferred).
- At least 2 years of experience in transportation administration, logistics, or a similar role.
- Strong proficiency in transportation management or logistics software.
- Experience processing shipping documents, orders, and payments.
- Solid knowledge of transportation industry regulations and safety standards.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and customers.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing schedules and resolve operational issues as they arise.
- Availability to address urgent logistics concerns outside of business hours when needed.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Standing, walking and meeting activities are required frequently throughout the workday. Employee must be able to process paperwork and utilize office equipment (including computer, phone, etc.). A large portion of the day is spent communicating orally in person and by phone. Normal sight or corrected vision is required to read documents and use standard computer equipment and programs.
