Position Overview:
The Riggs Rents Strategic Account Manager (SAM) is responsible for growing and expanding relationships with our most valuable customers as well as our largest opportunities. This role will serve to manage these customers utilizing a strategic mindset and an overall goal of growing rental revenues. Focusing on achieving monthly/annual growth targets, identifying new business opportunities, and fostering strong customer relationships are expectations we have for this SAM position. In addition, this position requires strong collaboration across multiple internal organizations to enhance service delivery and ensure that our customers receive an experience they have come accustomed to from Riggs Rents. We also expect this position to leverage customer relationships to promote other products and services across our product portfolio and serve as a leader/mentor to other sellers in the Riggs Cat family.
This role is vital in maintaining and growing key accounts, ensuring exceptional service, and driving company growth through strategic account management.
What you’ll do:
1. Maintain and grow relationships with existing clients through regular communication and visits.
2. Identify and secure new business opportunities across an assigned set of accounts
3. Working with sales teams and branch managers on effective sales and customer service strategies.
4. Collaboration with Riggs CAT departments to maximize growth opportunities.
5. Address any issues with assigned accounts throughout the customer life cycle
6. Track all sales activities and customer interactions as required.
7. Complete administrative tasks, including sales reports, expense tracking, and planning.
8. Take responsibility for all customer satisfaction across assigned accounts.
9. Conduct regular visits to customer locations to ensure satisfaction and growth.
10. Develop and implement business plans for all strategic accounts.
Requirements:
What you’ll need:
1. Expertise in construction equipment and the rental market is a plus.
2. Strong negotiation skills and know how to close deals.
3. Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
5. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
6. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
7. High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
8. 3-5 years of experience in a direct sales role.
9. Willingness to travel regularly to job sites, including construction environments.
10. Valid driver’s license, safety training, and PPE compliance may be required.
