J&J Truck Bodies & Trailers is seeking a Parts Sales / Inventory Control Specialist for our Cumberland, MD location. This individual will sell replacement parts and perform post-delivery customer service. They will be responsible for inventory held by the company for production and inventory sold and shipped to customers, shops, suppliers, and distributors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities : include the following. Other job-related duties may be assigned in compliance with state and federal regulations .
- Responsibilities include sales of stock replacement parts, manufactured replacement parts & aftermarket equipment.
- Must be able to read blueprints and capable of performing takeoffs & estimating.
- Will develop quotes for repair work.
- Strong mechanical aptitude necessary; familiarity with J&J products a plus.
- Strong computer skills, data entry & familiarity with MS Office are necessary.
- Must have excellent phone and customer service skills.
- Read catalogs, or computer displays to determine replacement part stock numbers and prices.
- Determine replacement parts required, according to inspections of old parts, drawings, work orders, and customer requests, or customers' descriptions of malfunctions.
- Receive and fill telephone orders for parts.
- Fill customer orders from stock.
- Prepare sales slips or sales contracts.
- Receive payment or obtain credit authorization.
- Take inventory of stock.
- Advise customers on substitution or modification of parts when identical replacements are not available.
- Examine returned parts for defects, and exchange defective parts or refund money.
- Observe and comply with all provisions of the ISO 9001 QMSObserves and comply with all safety rules, including the use of PPE.
