What You’ll Be Doing :
Personal Care : Assisting with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, toileting, and personal hygiene. Be prepared for occasional accidents and discomforts, including dealing with incontinence.
Mobility Support : Helping with movement, whether it’s transferring from bed to wheelchair or providing assistance during walks. This will require physical strength and the ability to handle potentially challenging situations.
Medication Management : Administering medications according to a strict schedule and ensuring compliance. You’ll need to stay vigilant about potential side effects and interactions.
Household Duties : Performing light housekeeping, meal preparation, and laundry. Understand that these tasks are secondary to the primary caregiving responsibilities but still crucial for maintaining a clean and functional living environment.
Emotional Support : Providing companionship, engaging in conversation, and offering comfort during times of distress. This will involve managing emotional ups and downs, and sometimes dealing with resistance or frustration.
