This can include but is not limited to, assisting clients with activities of daily living, such as providing assistance with personal hygiene, ambulation, eating, and dressing; light housekeeping; taking clients on outings or to appointments; and running errands.You don’t have to be a gourmet chef but you can prepare a good meal and work your way around a kitchen.You are able to perform other assigned activities which are taught by a nurse, for a specific patient, which includes but is not limited to : Assisting with the change of ostomy appliancesReinforcing dressingsAssisting with the use of devices that aid in daily living (cane, walker, wheelchair, or lift device)Assisting with prescribed range of motion exercisesAssisting with self-administered simple urine tests for sugar acetone or albumin (may not interpret results)Measuring and preparing special dietsMeasuring intake and outputTaking vital signs (temperature, pulse, respirations and blood pressure)Application of an external condom-style catheterAssisting with the application of arm slings or arm / leg splintMust Haves : High school degree or a GEDCurrent Negative TB Screening less than 3 months old. (May obtain after accepting job offer.)PCA only : Successfully complete the PCA Competency Evaluation that meets State licensing law for home health agenciesCNA only : Active certification and no adverse findings on Georgia Nurse Aide RegistryCurrent CPR certificate recommended.
