Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated caregiver to provide personal care for a 92-year-old Ethiopian woman in her home in South Grafton. The ideal candidate will speak Amharic and have experience in elderly care, along with a warm, caring personality.
Key Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Assist with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Companionship: Provide emotional support, engage in conversations, and participate in light activities.
- Mobility Assistance: Support with walking and gentle exercises.
- Medication Reminders: Help manage and organize medications (no administration required).
- Safety Monitoring: Ensure a safe, clean living environment and help prevent accidents.
- Family Communication: Update family on any concerns or changes in health or behavior.
- Record-Keeping: Maintain simple notes on daily care activities and observations.
Qualifications
- Experience: Prior experience caring for elderly individuals, especially within a home environment, is preferred.
- Language: Must speak Amharic fluently.
- Skills: Ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with seniors; understanding of Ethiopian culture is a major benefit.
