Field Operations Technician – Duct Cleaning Industry (Opportunities for advancement)
Location: Inwood, New York (Travel Required: Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, Staten Island, Nassau County, Suffolk County, Upstate NY, Lakewood NJ, Toms River NJ)
Compensation: $50k-$75k DOE plus bonuses (OT when applicable)
Our client, a well-established company specializing in expert dryer vent, mini-split, and HVAC duct cleaning services for residential and commercial properties, is hiring a Field Operations Technician. Position Overview
This role starts as a hands-on technician position with the opportunity to grow into a multiple-crew management role. No prior vent cleaning experience is required—just a strong work ethic and communication skills, mechanical aptitude, and a willingness to learn the trade.
Responsibilities
•Travel to residential and commercial locations within the service areas to perform vent and duct cleaning.
• Operate company-provided equipment and van to complete jobs efficiently and safely.
• Learn and implement best practices for dryer vent, air duct, and mini-split cleaning.
• Proactively explore opportunities to cross-sell complementary products and services to existing clients.
• Maintain and inspect tools and equipment to ensure proper functionality.
• Communicate effectively with customers and provide top-tier service.
• Work independently and as part of a team to complete scheduled jobs.
• Troubleshoot and solve minor mechanical and technical issues in the field.
• Maintain detailed records of work completed, materials used, and customer interactions.
• Over time, take on leadership responsibilities, including overseeing and managing work crews.
Requirements
• Hands-on, hardworking, resourceful, and eager to learn with aspirations to manage a team.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work with tools.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in various environments (indoor/outdoor, confined spaces, etc.).
• Comfortable with frequent travel within designated service areas.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (company van provided).
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to follow safety protocols and work efficiently with minimal supervision.
• Positive, can-do attitude with a willingness to take on new challenges.
• Previous experience in construction, maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, or a related field is a plus but not required.
