Right from the Start Daycare is looking to hire someone who :

Has worked with children in a childcare setting and is excited to share their skills with children.

The Salary based on experience and/or education.

Assistant Group Supervisor-must possess a calling to work with children, have a desire to learn about their cultures and lives and have a need to laugh and learn with tomorrows generation. The requirements to be employed are as follows:

  • High school diploma or GED & 2500 hours of documented experience working with children( not your own)
  • High school diploma and 15 credit hours from accredited college in ECE and 1 year (1250hrs) experience working with children;
  • High school diploma and 30 credit hours from accredited college in ECE.
  • State Police Clearance
  • Child Abuse Clearance
  • DHS FBI Clearance
  • National Sex Offender Registry (NSOR) Verification
  • Physical and TB test
  • Driver's license or state approved photo ID
  • CDA certificate; College Degree along with transcripts; If currently in college, an unofficial transcript showing all courses & grades thus far
  • TWO letters of reference (must include your suitability to work with young children)
  • Verification of hours working with children (2.500 hours). Must be documented on state verification form. Hours can be paid or unpaid and can include babysitting, nanny, youth sports coach, Sunday school, etc. Hours will count from your age of 16 years and older. Hours can not include watching your siblings.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in supervising and engaging children in daily activities to promote their development and well-being.
  • Implement age-appropriate curriculum and lesson plans that foster learning and creativity.
  • Maintain a safe and clean classroom environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and staff regarding children's progress and any concerns.
  • Support children with special needs and adapt activities to meet diverse learning requirements.
  • Education:
  • High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

  • Childcare: 2 years (Required)

Duties:
- Create and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities
- Provide a structured daily routine for children
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Supervise and ensure the safety of children at all times
- Assist with diaper changes, feeding, and other basic care needs
- Encourage social interaction and promote positive behavior
- Maintain open communication with parents regarding their child's progress
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a cohesive learning environment
- Keep the classroom clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies

- Knowledge of childhood development stages and milestones
- Ability to manage a classroom effectively and maintain discipline
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Patience, compassion, and the ability to connect with children on an individual level
