Description
As a CPA at GFS Home Loans, you will play a critical role in managing and overseeing the company's financial operations. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records, preparing financial statements, and providing strategic financial guidance. The ideal candidate will have experience with variable pay structures, cash basis and accrual accounting, and managing finances for multiple businesses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
- Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
- Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
- Oversee the preparation of regulatory reporting.
- Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes.
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
- Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Additional controller duties as necessary.
Qualifications
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
- Proven experience as a CPA in the mortgage industry or a related field.
- Strong understanding of variable pay structures, cash basis and accrual accounting.
- Experience managing finances for multiple businesses.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
- Experience with creating financial statements.
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
- Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and effectively.
