We are seeking a qualified individual for an open scale technician position. As a scale technician you’ll learn how to service and maintain weighing devices. Scales play an essential role in a number of industries. The job requires an individual to work on a variety of applications where weighing equipment is used.
Through our training program we supply our technicians with the appropriate knowledge and necessary tools of the scale industry. While prior knowledge of weighing devices or the scale industry is not required, a strong desire to learn and grow is essential. Familiarity with troubleshooting, HMI / PLC programming, metrology, or experience with electrical and mechanical equipment is advantageous.
The job requires the person to have prior knowledge of working with tools, they must be capable of lifting weights up to 50lbs multiple times, they must have an attention for details and they can communicate clearly. Safety is at the core of our operations, and we expect that anyone hired at Right Weigh Scale can retain and demonstrate the technical knowledge to work safely and effectively within 90 days of employment. The applicant must work well with others as well as prove to work independently with little supervision. Within 30 days of employment, the employee must pass the State of California service agent exam to become a licensed service technician.
The position primarily involves working independently and requires significant driving. Effective time management, self-motivation, and strong problem solving skills are key attributes for success in this role. Applicants should be able to work well both independently and as a team with their peers.
Additional Requirements :
Ability to pass a physical examination, as the job involves lifting up to 50 lbs repeatedly. Standing for long periods, kneeling, and working with tools daily.
A current driver’s license and a clean DMV record for driving company vehicles (DMV printout required).
A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
Proficiency in reading, writing, and conversing in English.
No felony convictions.
Forklift Operator Certified or the ability to become certified within 60 days of employment.
OSHA 10 or 30 Certified or the ability to become certified within 90 days of employment.
Spanish fluency is a plus but not required.
