Job Summary:
As a Parking Enforcement Officer (Booting Specialist), your primary responsibility will be to enforce parking regulations by identifying illegally parked vehicles and applying boot devices. You will also educate the public about parking laws and assist in the resolution of parking-related issues. This role requires individuals who are observant, detail-oriented, and able to handle difficult situations with professionalism and courtesy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enforce Parking Regulations: Identify and mark vehicles that are in violation of parking laws, particularly those that require booting for non-compliance (e.g., outstanding fines, unauthorized parking, etc.).
- Apply and Remove Boots: Safely and efficiently place boot devices on vehicles in violation and ensure proper documentation of each incident.
- Issue Citations: Write tickets and record details for each violation, including vehicle information, location, and nature of the violation.
- Customer Interaction: Communicate with vehicle owners or drivers to explain the reason for booting and guide them through the process of resolving the issue.
- Maintain Accurate Records: Document and report all activities related to vehicle booting, including the number of boots applied and any payment transactions.
- Conflict Resolution: Handle challenging situations, including customer complaints, in a calm and professional manner.
- Collaboration with Team: Work closely with other parking enforcement staff to ensure smooth operations and coordination.
- Stay Updated on Laws: Keep up-to-date with local parking regulations and changes in parking enforcement policies.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Previous experience in law enforcement, parking enforcement, or customer service is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and make quick, informed decisions.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to handle stressful situations in a calm and professional manner.
- Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to lift and carry equipment such as boots and tools.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (if applicable).
