Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Network Configuration and Security : Configure and troubleshoot firewalls, routers, SDWAN, and other networking devices. Establish VPN tunnels and manage access control lists.
- Backup and Logs : Oversee the maintenance of firewall and server backup configurations and review related logs.
- User Support : Provide Help Desk support for connectivity issues, including location-to-location and remote access.
- Wireless Management : Configure and manage internal Access Points and serve as a subject matter expert for systems like Meraki and Ubiquity.
- ISP Liaison : Assist with the installation or changes to ISP providers and configure access devices.
- VPN Management : Manage the VPN solution for remote access, including user database management.
- Infrastructure Maintenance : Ensure the organization and maintenance of wiring in server rooms and closets, monitor UPS & PDUs.
- System Monitoring : Oversee Syslog Server and Event Log Tracker, configure monitoring applications for IT devices.
- Voice System Backup : Support the Voice Administrator with system upgrades and configurations.
- New Technologies : Research and implement new technologies that enhance network infrastructure.
- Hardware Management : Manage cable setups and use tools like tone generators for connectivity tests.
- Network Architecture : Understand and manage hub-and-spoke network configurations.
- Troubleshooting and Analysis : Employ strong analytical skills for rapid issue diagnosis.
- OSI Model : Utilize an understanding of the OSI model in network management.
- Monitoring Tools : Use tools such as WhatsUp Gold, SolarWinds, or ManageEngine for network monitoring.
