The Tax Director is responsible to direct engagements while coordinating with Staff and supervising
a team assigned to these engagements. The Tax Director will consult with Partners and engage with
clients to develop a rapport by leveraging complex research and analyzation of sophisticated tax
strategies.
Key Objectives :
- Be proficient in the preparation of various tax returns, including but not limited to -
individual, Fiduciary, Corporate, Partnership and Multistate
Competency in all phases of accounting and tax, including performing tax planning, taxpreparation, review, compliance and research
Demonstrates proficiency through technical knowledge of accounting and reportingstandards in areas such as researching, completing, and reviewing technical areas.
Identifies tax risk management issues and proposes potential solutions through researchand collaboration with engagement Partner
Ability to review tax procedures, and financial statements with no supervisionFacilitates tax review of returns, and audits for accuracy of data and communicationMonitors tasks assigned to team ensuring that all questions are answered. Checks forclarity of communication by monitoring tasks, reviewing workflow and ensuring that the
team completes all tasks on a timely basis
Oversees team and coordinates the day-to-day duties of planning, tax work, and wrap-upCommunicates to Partners any client issues and work status to ensure timelinessSupervise, train and mentor tax staffRequirements :
Bachelor's degree in accounting (Required)CPA (Required)At least 10 years of experience in a CPA firm with 5 years of supervisory experienceExperience using UltraTax CS, Checkpoint, Microsoft Office Suite and Intuit productsPreferred)
Ability to work independently and to inspire a team to drive results through efficienciesStrong experience using Thomson Reuters UltraTax CS, Checkpoint, Microsoft Office, andIntuit QuickBooks.
Strong verbal and written communicationAble to provide positive feedback, constructive direction through proper coaching andmentoring

Salary : Starting at $160,000 (Commensurate with experience)
