What are the responsibilities and job description for the Outside Truss Sales Representative position at Rigid Component Systems?
We are looking for a competitive Outside Sales Representative to lead truss sales for Rigid Component Systems. This individual is a self-starter who is committed to sourcing new sales opportunities and converting those opportunities into sustained, long term customers.
You will be an ambassador of our company, becoming a trusted face to our customers by adhering to our company values. As a key member of our team, you will use your strong interpersonal skills to provide service and support to your customers while closely coordinating with production and design.
Rigid Component Systems is looking to increase production by reaching new customers along the Front Range into Northern Colorado. You will have the unique opportunity to develop your own sales territory while providing valuable feedback on the implementation of this sales program.
Rigid Component Systems is based in Mead, CO but we are flexible on work location. You can be based out of your home or our office but there is an expectation that the bulk of your time will be spent on the road, spending time at sites and meeting with customers.
Responsibilities:
- Generate new business through prospecting and developing relationships with:
Lumberyards
Garage builders
Agricultural building contractors
Smaller builders in Northern Colorado
Other customer types that you identify
- Strengthen and expand relationships with existing customers by providing excellent customer service.
- Work with the team to ensure that customers’ orders are delivered on time, on budget, and with a high level of quality.
- Provide clear and actionable feedback to production and design teams based on feedback from customers
- Maintain a Rigid Component Systems presence by visiting jobsites, participating in builder association activities, and being the face of the company wherever helpful.
- Maintain the company’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database
- Work closely with the Director of Sales and BD at Simple Homes to develop mutually beneficial customer relationships
- Meet required sales goals/quotas
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Must have: At least 3 years experience in truss, lumber, or building material sales
- A presence or connections in the building industry in Northern Colorado preferred
- Extremely reliable transportation: You will be traveling extensively throughout Colorado however, your primary area will be along the Front Range/1-25 Corridor/Denver. You will ultimately be setting your own territory.
- Ownership over your work: You have a deep sense of responsibility for your work. You celebrate the wins and own any mistakes.
- Results-driven mentality: You are motivated by success and put a great deal of effort into meeting or surpassing company goals.
- Excellent customer service: While developing strong relationships with both new and current customers, you must maintain the highest level of customer service.
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills: Being able to communicate effectively with a variety of people is important to the success of this position.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
Compensation:
Base threshold in the $60’s
Commission commensurate with industry experience
Salary : $60,000 - $70,000
