Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Survey Technician Drone Pilot to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for surveying Civil Construction jobs and operating drones to capture high-quality aerial imagery and data for various projects. This role requires a strong understanding of geographic information systems (GIS) and proficiency in software tools such as ArcGIS and AutoCAD. The Drone Pilot will work closely with project managers and engineers to ensure accurate data collection and analysis.
Duties
- Operate drones to conduct aerial surveys, inspections, and mapping projects.
- Checking in/out of Control Site TBM's
- Collecting As-Built Topo's and cross sections according to specs
- Calculating COGO points if needed using .dxf file in Data Collector
- Capture high-resolution images and videos for analysis and reporting.
- Utilize GIS software to process and analyze collected data.
- Collaborate with team members to interpret data and create detailed reports.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and guidelines while operating drones.
- Perform routine maintenance on drone equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Assist in utility locating tasks as needed, including interpreting schematics.
- Conduct heavy lifting when necessary for equipment setup and transportation.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Survey Technician & Drone Pilot or in a similar role is required.
- Strong knowledge of GIS principles, geometry, trigonometry, and algebra.
- Part 107 License from FAA
- Proficiency in software such as Trimble ArcGIS, AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools.
- Valid Driver's License
- Ability to read and interpret technical schematics related to drone operations.
- Experience with utility locating is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Must be physically fit to perform heavy lifting tasks when required.
