Position Summary: The Management Trainee position is a dynamic two-year program designed to provide hands-on experience across key operational areas of our holiday outdoor decorating company. The program includes rotations in sales, warehouse/inventory, and operations, equipping trainees with the skills and knowledge to take on leadership roles within the organization. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented individual with a passion for customer service and operational excellence.
Program Overview:
- Duration: 2 years
- Rotational Areas: Sales, Warehouse/Inventory, Operations
- Key Goal: Develop comprehensive knowledge of the business and cultivate leadership skills through practical, on-the-job training
Responsibilities:
Sales Rotation:
- Review sales contracts and ensure committed dates are in CRM and communicated
- Assist in preparing competitive bids and proposals for customers
- Maintain and update records in Salesforce, Smartsheet, and other platforms to ensure data accuracy and consistency
- Monitor bid timelines and follow up to ensure all deadlines are met
- Provide administrative support to the sales team, including generating reports and handling correspondence
- Build and maintain customer relationships by providing exceptional service and addressing inquiries promptly
Warehouse/Inventory Rotation:
- Oversee inventory management, including tracking stock levels and coordinating orders to ensure timely availability of products
- Supervise the delivery, storage, and setup of products and holiday displays
- Implement and maintain organizational systems for warehouse operations
- Collaborate with other departments to forecast inventory needs
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
Operations Rotation:
- Assist in the planning and execution of holiday decoration installation, maintenance, and dismantling projects
- Lead and organize on-site teams to achieve installation or takedown of jobs
- Develop and implement operational processes to improve efficiency
- Identify and resolve operational challenges promptly
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and high-quality standards
- Provide customer service support during job execution, addressing issues as they arise
Qualifications:
- Preferred bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Sage Intacct and Smartsheet is a plus
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Valid driver's license and three-year clean driving experience
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends during peak season
