We currently have an opening for a qualified Field Safety Specialist.
The Field Safety Specialist assists in the implementation and administration of the company safety and health program to maintain a safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment. The Field Safety Specialist works under the direction and supervision of the Safety Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Assists Safety Manager in planning and implementing the organization's safety and health program to ensure a safe, healthy, and accident-free workplace.
- Conducts regular walk-through inspections on job sites, enforces OSHA requirements on jobsites. Verifies insurance compliance by using insurance logs.
- Enforces disciplinary practices (verbal warnings, maintaining records of discipline, etc.) when required, to reinforce proper safety and health practices.
- Identifies, documents and recommends resolution of hazardous/potentially hazardous conditions; follow through to ensure corrections have been made.
- Investigates personal injury and property damage incidents. Compiles data, photographs, etc. and prepares all pertinent forms and reports per program procedures and federal, state and local regulations associated with incidents.
- Conducts various industrial hygiene samplings, such as gas, O2, noise to ensure safe working conditions.
- Assists in conducting employee/craft and insurance inspections. May accompany federal, state and insurance inspectors on walk through tours
- Partners with owners and supervisors to identify potential hazards on site and ensure appropriate permits are obtained.
- Provides Safety Committee updates on disciplinary actions and recommends new safety ideas for consideration.
- Conducts job site safety orientations as necessary. May include owner-specific safety requirements. Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in occupational safety and health (or equivalent), or relevant safety qualifications
- Valid driver's license required
- 0-2 years of work experience in safety
