Band Teacher/Orchestra Teacher (Orchestra)

POSITION TITLE:          Band Teacher/Orchestra teacher

Teacher is a highly qualified and state certified teacher responsible for delivering band content in a differentiated manner that is aligned with state standards.

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Building Principal

DUTIES: 

Qualified teaching candidate will provide instruction, support and guidance, manage the learning process, and focus on students’ individual needs. This teacher monitors student growth using the 8 step process, is competent using data collection models to assess and track student growth, and is able to integrate technology, core content, and the arts into instructional plans. The teacher candidate will be an effective classroom manager, able to collaborate with teachers and other staff, work actively with students and parents and communicate academic necessities for student growth. 
• Use a variety of teaching strategies to engage students in the learning process. Develop daily lesson plans for effective instruction.
• Structure the classroom environment to maintain student interest and engagement
• Maintain professional responsibility for planning, implementing and evaluating the process of learning
• Exhibition of student work/performance each grading period and school-based performances.
• Extracurricular sponsorship of extended day groups. Opportunities for ensemble work through the after school program and extended arts classes are available .

QUALIFICATIONS: 
• Licensed and Highly Qualified in the areas of Vocal & Instrumental Music
• Applicant must not have had a recommendation for Probation Assistance on their most recent evaluation.
