Math Teacher HS
Position Title: High School Mathematics Teacher
Position Summary: Individual must be able to teach high school students at all grade levels (9-12) and in any high school Math course, including, but not limited to: Algebra 1, Algebra 11, Geometry, Pre-Calculus/ Trigonometry, and Calculus. Immediate Supervisor: Building Principal Duties: An appropriate candidate will display professionalism and the ability to work cooperatively with others. Candidate must be highly skilled in classroom management and student engagement skills. Candidate must be able to skillfully use differentiated instructional strategies and use data to guide their instruction, work collaboratively in a Professional Learning Community, prepare lesson plans, record grades using the Corporation electronic grade book, and assist in the development, revision, and evaluation of the math curriculum. Candidate must be part of the 8-Step Process of instruction and remediation. Candidate must be able to effectively communicate with students and parents. When appropriate, candidate must be a cooperative member of the Small Learning Community – Freshman Academy, and must attend Freshman Academy Team meetings. Qualifications: Must hold a current High School Level License/Certification in Mathematics in grades 9-12, and be Highly Qualified. A Masters Degree or higher is preferred. An ideal candidate will also have AP Certification in Calculus. Additionally, an ideal candidate will hold a current License/ Certification in Technology Education and/or in a Science discipline. Experience teaching varying levels of high-school math courses is preferred. Previous experience teaching in an urban high-school setting is preferred. Candidate must not have had a recommendation for Probation Assistance on their most recent evaluation.
