What are the responsibilities and job description for the Utility Technician position at Rima Manufacturing Company?
GENERAL SUMMARY:
This position is part of the Operations Department. Team member is responsible for the stocking of multiple spindle screw machines and inspection of parts produced on those machines. Works from blueprints and responsible for communicating to the technician when quality parameters are breached.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Qualified candidates must have a high school diploma or GED. Mechanical experience preferred.
Duties include but are not limited to: Communicating with machine operators regarding the general operation of the machine, maintaining proper fluid levels in machines, understand and interpret quality data from the SPC system charts, observe blueprints for all dimensions and requirements to assure maximum quality and production, maintain a clean, safe and efficient work environment, and other assignments as needed.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Employee will be exposed to the noise, fumes and temperature extremes typically found in a light manufacturing environment. Risk of injury from being in close proximity of operating machinery is possible, but unlikely if proper safety precautions are followed. Lifting requirements for this position dictate that the employee must be physically capable of lifting a minimum of 40# on a repetitive basis and a maximum of 80# on an occasional basis.
All employees must wear PPE which includes hearing protection and safety glasses, both of which are provided by RIMA, and slip resistant shoes which the employee provides. RIMA has a prescription safety glass program and safety shoe reimbursement program that is available to employees after 90 days of employment.
