Lead Drafter

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented HVAC Drafting Technician to join our dynamic team. This role involves supporting our mechanical installation projects through accurate design, drafting, and coordination.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret project scope and customer requirements to develop accurate and comprehensive designs.
• Produce detailed shop drawings, as-built drawings, and specifications using CAD software.
• Collaborate with the senior draftsman, estimating team, and project managers to ensure alignment with project goals.
• Validate layouts and measurements by visiting site locations as necessary.
• Identify and resolve design or layout issues by consulting with team members and stakeholders.
• Analyze specifications, sketches, and technical data to create accurate designs and documentation.
• Compute precise mathematical formulas to develop technical specifications for mechanical systems.
• Incorporate revisions to designs to address deficiencies or improve production processes.
• Prepare and deliver closeout documents, ensuring final designs reflect site installations.
• Maintain organized project documentation and comply with company processes and policies.

Qualifications

• Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years in the commercial HVAC industry and drafting experience (required).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft applications; experience with Revit and BIM is a plus.

• Skills:

  • Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
  • High energy and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

• Education:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent (required).
  • Mechanical engineering degree preferred.

• Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Punctuality, dependability, and ability to adapt to company growth and process changes.
