Job Description
The Project Manager will lead and manage Public Works and HCAI/OSHPD-regulated construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role requires strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with all regulations. The Project Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and internal teams, driving project success through proactive planning and coordination.
- Oversee project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution.
- Manage the submittal process, RFIs, change orders, and project documentation to maintain organized project records.
- Ensure compliance with California Public Works regulations, HCAI/OSHPD requirements, prevailing wage laws, and safety standards.
- Coordinate with superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, and design teams to maintain progress, quality, and safety.
- Conduct project meetings, including preconstruction kick-off meetings, progress meetings, and Owner/Architect/Contractor (OAC) meetings.
- Track project costs, forecast budgets, and manage billing and pay applications.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring customer satisfaction and positioning the company for future project opportunities.
- Oversee project closeout, including the submission of as-builts, warranties, and final project documentation.
The Successful Applicant
✔ Minimum of 5 years of experience managing Public Works and HCAI/OSHPD construction projects.
✔ Strong understanding of California Public Works processes, including DSA requirements and HCAI/OSHPD regulations.
✔ Experience working on K-12 schools, higher education, healthcare, and municipal projects is highly preferred.
✔ Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
✔ Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, contracts, and technical specifications.
✔ Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, and project scheduling software.
✔ Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
✔ Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
✔ Ability to visit jobsites across the Culver City area and surrounding regions.
