Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
Participate in preconstruction and job walk meetings.
Plan, coordinate, and oversee work activities for assigned projects valued at $1 million or more.
Lead and direct the mechanical team to ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with quality standards, plans, and specifications.
Organize and manage team members, materials, and equipment to meet project timelines.
Assist project and construction management in planning and implementing best practices for Plumbing and HVAC activities.
Review architectural drawings and specifications for constructability, providing feedback on potential issues or deficiencies.
Analyze project challenges, anticipate potential problems, and implement effective solutions.
Maintain strong working relationships with Owners, General Contractors, and the Design Team.
Communicate company objectives and expectations clearly to all field personnel.
Develop and manage project schedules, ensuring proper sequencing and activity durations.
Plan and allocate labor resources for all assigned projects on a bi-weekly basis.
Coordinate and communicate labor schedules with all relevant team members.
Ensure daily communication among field team members to align work efforts.
Provide ongoing updates to the General Contractor’s Job Superintendent regarding project progress and milestone schedules.
Understand and manage project estimates, budgets, submittals, purchase orders, and milestone schedules.
Review and verify purchase orders prepared by the Project Manager.
Oversee trade contractor and supplier contract scopes to ensure alignment with project requirements.
Assist with quantity takeoffs and pricing estimates.
Supervise the completion of project punch lists and close-out procedures.
Manage job site logistics, including material handling and phased project execution.
Mentor and train employees to enhance their skills and overall team performance.
Maintain detailed electronic daily logs, documenting weather conditions, project milestones, delays, and productivity details.
Review and approve employee timecards to ensure adherence to project budgets.
Implement and enforce company and job site safety standards, ensuring compliance from all personnel and subcontractors.
Conduct and document daily safety meetings.
Prepare and submit daily and weekly project reports to the contracting officer.
Assist with project scheduling, including task creation, cost estimation, dependencies, and milestone tracking.
Identify and address safety hazards on-site, taking corrective action and reporting all safety incidents promptly.
