- Manage project accounting tasks including processing billings for NYC government agencies, handling project-related accounts receivables, and coordinating with subcontractors.
- Work closely with project managers and clients to track and manage project budgets, contracts, monthly billings, payments, and other financial aspects of the projects.
- Review and process a large volume of project invoices for billing preparation, ensuring all invoices align with contract terms and are accurately accounted for.
- Maintain organized records of executed contracts, signed proposals, purchase orders, and change orders.
- Research and resolve issues related to invoices, working with clients and vendors to ensure compliance with contract values.
- Communicate regularly with the CFO and the accounting team to provide relevant project updates and financial status reports.
- Assist with additional financial duties and tasks as required by the team.
Qualifications
Experience:
- Proven experience in project accounting within a Civil Engineering firm and with New York City government agencies.
- Prior experience with Deltek Ajera is preferred.
Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), Adobe Professional, and other project accounting tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
- Effective multitasking and time management skills, with the ability to handle competing priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
