OVERVIEW:
The CAD technician is responsible for the manipulation of drawings to suit the BES design team and coordination with clients to ensure maximum incoming and outgoing document transfer efficiency, including the transfer of electronic and hard copy documents.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Be familiar with specifications, sketches, drawing notes, and other design data relative to Mechanical, Electrical, Fire Protection, and Plumbing systems in order to manipulate raw drawings such that they are suitable for engineers to use as the basis of design backgrounds for MEPFP construction document issuance.
- Prepare, organize, and manage drawings and specifications using computer-aided drafting (CAD) and word processing applications (MS Word, MS Excel, Google Docs).
- Develop and assemble drawing sets with plan views, elevation views, and details to assist the design team with the preparation of remediation design drawings.
- Understand and assist with developing company standards for AutoCAD drafting, including layer names, line and character styles, drawings and window names, and file names for sheet layout.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, and CERTIFICATIONS
- High proficiency in AutoDesk products, including AutoCAD, REVIT, and BIM360, is required.
- 3 years of AutoCAD, Revit design, and drawing production experience.
- Experience with Google Docs, Excel, and Word for analyzing, organizing, visualizing, tracking, reporting, and communicating plans and project status.
REQUIRED SKILLS and ABILITIES:
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple concurrent tasks
PHYSICAL DEMANDS, OVERTIME, and TRAVEL:
Physical Demands: Work is performed primarily in an office setting. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, bend, crouch, hear, and talk (must be able to speak and communicate clearly with employees). Employee may lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Clear vision and depth perception are also necessary.
Overtime: There will be some occasions where overtime (or working after normal business hours) will be required to meet the demands of the position.
Travel: Required travel is minimal and infrequent.
