JOB SUMMARY: Help support Rimrock and serve the community by volunteering your time and skills to support our mission to create opportunity for those impacted by the chaos of addiction and mental illness through innovative, compassionate, and life-changing care.
Essential Functions
We are seeking volunteers who may be interested in performing a variety of the following tasks:
Accountability – Takes ownership for resolving problems, reaching goals, and serving patients, and the organization. Accepts responsibility for own behavior.
Time Management – Maximizes the use of time and resources and effectively prioritizes tasks.
Teamwork – Works cooperatively with a wide variety of people. Promotes teamwork and information sharing within and across departments. Works in a spirit of teamwork and trust and maintains professional boundaries in working with others.
Flexibility – Adapts to changing work demands and priorities.
Confidentiality – Complies with all HIPAA and 42 C.F.R. Part 2 regulations relating to privacy, security, and confidentiality. Safeguards confidential information of patients, employees, and business operations
Safety – Knows and understands emergency procedures and complies with all safety requirements. Knows who to report to in the event of an incident.
Communication – Consistently uses positive communication skills to promote effective interpersonal relationships.
Customer Service – Supports the organization’s customer service initiative. Strives for service excellence by seeking challenges and turning them into opportunities. Anticipates and meets needs of patients while maintaining appropriate boundaries. Displays a friendly, helpful, and approachable demeanor.
Respect – Establishes compassionate and supportive rapport with patients. Communicates tactfully and respectfully with others.
Quality Improvement – Assures that information is collected, organized, reported and used to improve the quality of systems and services.
EDUCATION/TRAINING: No specific required training or education is required--depending on the nature of the service(s) provided throughout the organization.
SKILLS: Skill requirements will be subject to the nature of how you intend to volunteer. Some examples may be: Public speaking, planning; computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft software including Word, Excel and Outlook. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organized, good interpersonal skills and must have a keen focus on customer service.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work is typically indoors in an office environment with moderate noise. Outdoors may be required depending on the nature of the volunteer service and the time of year. Intermittent physical effort involving lifting up to 25 pounds. Walking and stooping is required. A typical day may involve long periods of sitting, frequent use of a keyboard, reaching with hands and arms, and talking and hearing, approximately 70% of the time. Approximately 50% or less of the time is spent standing. Normal vision abilities required, including close vision and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/JOB LOCATIONS: Involves everyday risk or discomfort requiring normal safety precautions in an office setting, meeting room and patient care areas. Generally, requires concentration and attention to detail. Will work primarily in our main facility.

- Having supportive, engaging and inspiring conversations with clients
- Speaking on pre-approved topics
- Grocery shopping and meal preparation
- Cleaning duties
- Educating others on a specific area of interest – yoga, budgeting, cpr, childcare, etc
- Outbound calls to share Rimrock’s services with the region
- Preparing family week packets
- Contacting family members to discuss the expectations of family week
- Leading or participating in a variety of art projects
- Snack or coffee cart rounds
- Conducting or accompanying them to 12 step groups/church/bible study
- Music – playing guitar, piano, etc.
- Preparing and stuffing invoices for monthly mailings
- Interior/Exterior painting
- Yardwork and gardening
