RINA is currently recruiting for a Highway Lead to join its office in Columbus, OH within the North America Infrastructure & Mobility Division.

The Highway Lead will work under the direct supervision of the National Highway Lead and manage the Ohio highway team. The ideal candidate will have experience leading and delivering diverse highway project types of varying size and complexity for clients such as ODOT and county and municipal agencies.

Mission

The Ohio Highway Lead will:
- Supervise and direct staff engineers and technicians to complete project scope per the projects’ deadlines.
- Lead the delivery of transportation projects of varying size and complexity.
- Recruit, train, develop and retain local transportation staff.
- Develop project scope and budgets for highway work
- Ensure the quality of deliverables.
- Maintain professional relationships with clients.
- Lead technical project design team.
- Mentor the team to ensure the quality and completeness of the deliverables.
- Plan the team’s anticipated level of effort to complete the deliverables.
- Document critical project decisions, design development, client interactions and other factors that may impact scope, schedule, budget
- Maintain an organized project file documentation
- Understand and adhere to internal and industry best practice processes and procedures as related to project design
- Facilitate the development of solutions to technical problems associated with the project
- Communicate with the owner/client regarding the project’s status on a regular basis
- Communicate with other engineers and support staff while working on multi-disciple projects
- Demonstrate a proactive, collaborative approach with project team members, client representatives, subconsultants, contractors, review agencies and others as appropriate for the project
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent
- 10 years of relevant engineering experience, including 5 years in project management
- Ohio Professional Engineering (PE) License
- Ability to mentor engineering staff
- Ability to build a rapport and maintain solid relationships with clients.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Effective technical written and verbal communications skills with the ability to clearly communicate concepts and ideas
- Experience managing Ohio DOT projects, strongly preferred
- Involvement in various industry societies preferred
- Ability to travel in and around OH based on business needs.
- Valid Driver's license
