RINA is currently recruiting for a Survey Manager in Florida within the North America Energy Division.
Mission
The Survey Manager is responsible for overseeing survey projects and directing staff in the preparation of boundary surveys, record plats, easements, construction stakeouts, as-builts, and topographical surveys for projects. The Survey Manager is also responsible for setting up field crews, analyzing field data, drafting and working with engineering staff as needed for completion of projects.
Key Accountabilities
- Manage a survey team including all matters related to employment (i.e., selection, promotion, assessing employee performance, coaching, etc.)
- Draft and/or review engineering surveys, topographic surveys, and boundary surveys.
- Prepare or review legal descriptions of areas surveyed.
- Perform and coordinate QA/QC of survey data, plats, and legal descriptions to ensure they are accurate and completed in accordance with the project scope and appropriate guidelines and manuals.
- Manage workflow to provide for cost-efficient survey processes.
- Oversee project costs and prepare data for client input.
- Prepare and maintain a variety of client deliverables including reports, plans, plats, deeds, and surveys.
- Participate in business development activities.
- Identify project opportunities and assist in developing proposals.
- Participates in review of all major proposals and initiatives affecting the discipline.
- Network and develop relationships with clients and others in the industry.
- Manage the acquisition, maintenance, and upkeep of survey instruments and equipment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, or other closely related field of study
- 8 years of experience in land surveying for a variety of applications, including boundary determinations, topographic surveys, utility surveys, and subdivisions.
- Professional Surveyor and Mapping (PSM) or Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) certification required
- 3 years of experience overseeing a staff including their professional development.
- Proficiency in all aspects of land surveying including boundary line and topographic survey, as well as construction stakeout.
- Excellent oral and technical written communication skills
- Familiarity with using electronic instruments, field data collectors, GPS and robotic instruments.
- Working knowledge of computer-aided design (CAD) and other land development software to interpret and present information.
- Experience utilizing the following software preferred:
- Customer relationship management (CRM)
- Enterprise resource planning (ERP) software
- Project scheduling software (e.g. MS Project, Primavera, Smartsheet)
- Construction management software (e.g. e-Builder and/or Procore)
- Up to 25% travel (i.e. project sites) may be required based on business needs.
- Valid Driver's License required
