Rincon Consultants is seeking an Environmental Planner with experience in transportation (roadway, transit, rail) projects. This role will be responsible for conducting and overseeing research, field work, impact analysis, report preparation, and business development related to CEQA / NEPA and related technical studies. Be a key player on the environmental team for key high-profile transportation projects in California.
While this role may offer flexible work arrangements that can include a mix of in-office and remote work, our changing business needs will ultimately determine our level of remote-work flexibility. Additionally, to promote in-person collaboration and client teaming, we will prioritize hiring those who reside within 50 miles of a Southern California Rincon office which currently includes : Carlsbad, Los Angeles, Palm Springs, Riverside, San Diego, Santa Barbara, and Ventura .
Overview of Key Duties and Responsibilities :
- Write and manage the preparation of CEQA / NEPA documents for roadway, transit, and rail projects
- Interface with clients and make public presentations to agency decision-making bodies
- Perform agency consultation and ensure environmental regulatory compliance
- Perform various business development functions, including proposal preparation and active involvement in transportation-related planning / environmental organizations
- Demonstrate confidence in decision-making and expertise in CEQA / NEPA and related technical areas

The base salary range for this full-time position is $74,000-$110,000, plus a generous benefits program. At Rincon, our salary ranges are based on market median of similar jobs, according to third party salary benchmark surveys. The base pay that is actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
