Job Type : Full Time, Hybrid Position

Job Location : 3720 N. Kedzie – Occasional Travel to Internship Sites throughout Chicago.

Salary Range : Full-time, non-exempt, $42,000-$46,000

Position Description – What the Role Entails :

The Internship Coordinator is responsible for overseeing student internship lifecycles from recruitment to offboarding, while executing internship initiatives aimed at enhancing job readiness and educational experiences for New Hope School of Counseling’s varying Internship Programs, including the Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) and the Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) programs, among others internship opportunities. This position will report directly to the CRSS Supervisor, as well as collaborating with the Professional Development Manager and Director of Education.

Areas of Accountability - What you will be doing :

  • Interacting effectively with a diverse group of faculty, staff, and students of NHSC
  • Handling information with discretion and understands confidentiality.
  • Assisting in development and implementation of Internship related initiatives
  • Establishing and maintaining internship site linkages, relationships with academic institutions and community organizations through outreach and networking.
  • Overseeing internship program administrative duties such as, but not limited to, keeping up to date documentation of internship site contacts, student contact information, internship site information, tracking and reviewing internship performance evaluations, timesheet hours and submissions to our Student Portal CANVAS.
  • Promotes career development and job readiness resources to students and interns
  • Communicating clearly with external or potential internship sites, interns / students, and staff
  • Assists students with internship placement process ensuring all required paperwork is completed.
  • Works with the Professional Development Manager & Director of Education to ensure that the policies and procedures of the programs are being adhered to
  • Collaborates with the Professional Development / Community Education Team, NHSC Team & other programs across Rincon Family Services
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Rincon’s Work Environment – What to expect :

    The Internship Coordinator must be able to successfully perform essential functions of this job including travel for networking, conferences, site visits; extensive continuous computer screen time and occasional carrying of objects up to 20lbs.     Schedule :

  • 35-hour work week (7 Hours / Day with unpaid lunch).
  • Typically, 9-5 schedule although there may be some occasional evenings and adapting to student needs. This is a hybrid role.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with diverse groups of students, staff, and communities.
  • Salary : $42,000 - $46,000
