As a Network Systems Administrator at Rincon, you will lead our efforts to execute the deployment, maintenance, and continued operations of our network infrastructure. As part of your role, you will work with IT function leads, program managers, customers, and telecommunications vendors to ensure connectivity, performance, and to continuously improve network capabilities. You will be involved in all areas of network delivery including architecture, installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and service expansion.
Primary Responsibilities- Build, deploy, maintain, and continuously improve the network's operations across Rincon and the customer systems we support.
- Execute and manage monthly operations cycles, including system patching, monitoring, maintenance, and optimization.
- Proactively plan network upgrades, capacity improvements, and technology evolutions.
- Implement system level security controls, and perform day-to-day security operations of the system.
- Create and maintain documentation, such as user guides, knowledge bases, change requests, and system maintenance records.
- Establish and maintain standards of network administration and development practices, such as technical design, solution development, systems configuration, and operations procedures.
- Monitor, manage, and report on information system performance, security, availability, and recoverability.
- Collaborate across other IT functions (Infrastructure, Security, Windows, Linux, Service Desk) and external vendors for issue resolution.
- Able and willing to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance - US citizenship required
- Requires security certification in compliance with DOD 8570 within 90 days of hire
- Requires professional certification in one or more areas within 6 months of hire
- CCNA, AWS Associate, or role relevant Windows or Linux certifications.
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related discipline. May be substituted with 6 years of experience.
- Advanced understanding of campus and data center network design and optimization.
- Advanced understanding of networking concepts (routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs)
- Experience with Arista network hardware
- Experience monitoring network performance with metrics like latency, bandwidth utilization, and packet loss
- Experience deploying and managing network devices such as firewalls, load balancers, and VPN gateways, both physical and virtual.
- Experience building and maintaining site-to-site VPN’s
- Experience working within security implementation guides to develop and maintain compliance baselines
- Experience utilizing source code management and CI/CD management systems, such as GitLab or GitHub.
- Experience automating network deployment and operations tasks
- Experience with scripting or programming skills in a language such as Powershell, Python, Bash, Go
- Experience with a configuration management tool such as Ansible or Puppet
