Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Farm/Ranch Hand to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and farm operations, with a strong understanding of beef cattle and hay farming equipment. This role requires a hands-on approach to maintaining the ranch, caring for livestock, harvesting hay, general mechanics, irrigation, fencing, and assisting with various agricultural tasks. The Farm/Ranch Hand will play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being of cattle, hay harvesting efficiency, and the overall farm operations. Communication among staff is important to ensure a smooth running farm.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for cattle, including feeding, watering, and monitoring health.
- Complete hay harvesting sequence with help of others.
- Operate farm equipment such as swather, rake, baler, loaders, feed tractor, skid steer, truck and trailers, atv.
- Perform routine maintenance on ranch facilities and equipment, fencing, and irrigation systems.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools for repairs and improvements around the ranch.
- Assist in supervising other staff members or interns as needed.
- Manage irrigation operations, including pumps, maintaining pivot and wheelline sprinklers, and irrigating crops.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols while working with animals and farm equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas.
Qualifications
- Experience in cattle handling and care is essential; knowledge of animal husbandry practices is preferred.
- Familiarity with operating farm equipment (hay equipment), hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Basic crop irrigation knowledge.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of animal welfare and hay harvesting quality.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor tasks, including lifting heavy objects when necessary.
- Previous experience in agricultural settings or similar roles is a plus but not required.

Pay: $18.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 50 per week
