What are the responsibilities and job description for the Optometric Technician position at Rinehart Family Eye Care?
Growing optometry office in is seeking an energetic and friendly individual for a full-time optometric technician position.
Primary Job duties include:
- Greeting patients
- Taking patient medical histories
- Performing basic eye exams and tests (color vision, stereopsis testing, visual acuities, intraocular pressure measurements)
- Answering questions about medications, eyeglasses, and contact lenses
- Helping with in-office procedures, contact lens insertion/removal trainings
- Using diagnostic instruments (lensometers, keratometers, autorefractor, etc)
- Performing specialty testing (Visual fields, Retinal photography, OCT testing)
- Maintaining ophthalmic equipment
- Maintaining clean/orderly/well-stocked exam rooms
- Coordinating/scheduling future appointments
- Creating an exceptional customer experience
- Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- An optometric technician certification a bonus, but not required
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Self-motivation, and ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to work well with a team
