About the Role:
As a Lab Assistant at RCH, you will play a vital role in supporting our healthcare team. Your responsibilities will include conducting laboratory tests, managing patient data, assisting with office duties, and ensuring the smooth operation of lab services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately evaluate specimen orders and enter clinical data into various computer systems
- Identify and correct missing or invalid data entries
- Conduct laboratory tests, including blood draws, urinalysis, and specimen collections
- Perform phlebotomy and operate automated/semi-automated lab equipment
- Maintain and organize patient records, EKG data, and test results
- Order and manage lab supplies and reports from reference labs
- Validate tests for Medicare patients and obtain additional required information
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers regarding lab results
- Assist patients, manage office duties, and distribute reports as needed

- Associate of Science Degree preferred.
- 1 year of experience in a clinical laboratory setting or length of time to complete certification program preferred.
- Medical Laboratory Assistant Certification or Phlebotomist or equivalent preferred.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Understands HIPAA regulations and privacy of patient and employee information.
