RCH is seeking a dedicated and skilled part-time paramedic to join our team. This role is perfect for a professional looking to maintain a flexible schedule while making a significant impact on patient care. The ideal candidate will be available to work one or two 24-hour shifts per week, responding to emergencies, providing critical care, and ensuring patient safety.
Essential Functions:
Provide patient care both prehospital and in hospital, to include Acute Care Floor, Emergency Room or where needed, up to level of certification. Assist with day-to-day operations of the Ambulance Service.
- Staffing Ambulance calls.
- Supervise other members of Ambulance crew.
- Radio communications.
- Communicates with nurses, physicians and other EMS personnel to give patient reports.
- Complete required paperwork in a timely manner.
- Operate emergency vehicle.
- Perform all Paramedic skills as defined by the State of Iowa and local protocols.
- Able to work in confined spaces (i.e., cars, narrow passageways).
- Responsible for cleaning and restocking Ambulance after a call.
- Complete Monthly Inventories as assigned.
- Complete Monthly Updates as assigned.
- Complete daily rig checks.
- To be completed by in house personnel.
- If in house personnel are not on clock, they are to clock in to ensure rig checks are completed.
- Complete other tasks necessary to Ambulance Service operation as assigned by the Director of Ambulance or the Director’s designee.
- Works assigned shift/shifts, weekends and holidays, as scheduled.
