We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team as a Transportation Program Director. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning of our pupil transportation program.
Job Summary
The successful candidate will have a strong background in school transportation services, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders. Your primary responsibility will be to coordinate a transportation program that meets all local, state, and federal laws and regulations, as well as the daily instructional program and extracurricular activities.
Main Responsibilities
- Coordinate a transportation program to meet all local, state, and federal laws and regulations and the daily instructional program and extracurricular activities.
- Work with contractors to ensure that schedules are carried out properly; legally required background clearances and related reports have been secured and properly processed; that all drivers and vehicles comply with federal, state laws and regulations established by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation regarding pupil transportation.
- Prepare routes and update bus schedules for all public, non-public, private, homeless, early intervention, and special education schools servicing the school district in order for all pupils to be transported in the most efficient and effective manner possible.
- Communicate with bus drivers, contractors, crossing guards and school principals regarding transportation changes and assist the central administration in matters dealing with school delays and closings.
Requirements
- High school diploma
- 3-5 years' experience with school transportation services
- CDL

- Advanced computer skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
