The Museum is seeking Retail Sales Associate (RSA) to work in the Museum Shop. Our associates ensure that all visitors to the Ringling College Museum Campus feel welcome. The RSA will steward an overall visitor experience life cycle that begins from the moment a visitor steps foot onto the Museum Campus until they depart, with emphasis on return visits, membership cultivation and deepening the visitor engagement.
Retail Sales Associates contribute in all customer facing areas of the Museum’s Visitor Experience. The successful candidate should be a flexible and dynamic worker who is excited to join a small team devoted to delivering an exceptional world class customer experience in a contemporary art museum.

Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities:

- Ability to open/close store. Balance cash and register, make deposits and solve discrepancies.
- Process returns and exchanges.
- Lead the customer service experience.
- Proactively maintain in-depth product knowledge of products and processes, communicate with customers and staff the best most accurate information possible.
- Count and process new deliveries, generate labels and tickets.
- Work independently in absence of Retail Manager.
- Interact with customers to offer guidance, point out products, and assist them in making purchasing decisions.
- Process transactions through the POS, balance cash and register, solve discrepancies.
- Maintain in-depth product knowledge, communicate with customers the best, most accurate information possible
- Promote / sell membership and its benefits.
- Maintain organization, adequate inventory, and initiate restocking of merchandise.
- Maintain cleanliness of all customer-facing areas.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Experience and knowledge with Point of Sale systems
- Proficient organizational and time-management skills and strong multi-tasking abilities.
- Positive team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong mathematical skills, with aptitude for performing work requiring close attention to detail.
- Ability to work under general direction, independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to process information accurately and within a deadline.
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods of time; ability to lift up to 35 lbs. with assistance
- Ability to prioritize workload and to change priorities on short or little notice
- Ability to work a flexible and variable schedule, with Weekend and Holiday availability required
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalency
- Two or more years’ sales, customer service or hospitality experience.
- Experience in cash handling.
- Experience and knowledge with Point of Sale systems
- Background and credit report
- Interest in Museum and Contemporary Art
