Job Purpose
Enforces pool policies, regulations, laws and/or ordinances governing the conduct of guests using the facility.
Duties and Responsibilities
-
Maintain participant safety through preventative lifeguarding. Check the area for safety hazards and try to eliminate them
-
Utilize appropriate rescue techniques and follow up procedures. Provide emergency first aid or call management for assistance when necessary

Report any accidents, unsafe conditions, or disciplinary problems on the appropriate forms

Curtail misuse of the facility

To respond quickly to all emergency situations and administer the appropriate rescue skills as needed

Position yourself at the assigned locations at the pool for maximum visibility
-
Remain at the pool unless properly relieved. Secure the pool if working closing shift
-
Any other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Qualifications

Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

Must be able to attend any training sessions held by the department
-
Must be able to obtain certification in Lifeguarding, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer through the American Red Cross - We will train for the necessary certifications

Must display a customer driven attitude and be a team player
-
Available to substitute when necessary
Working Conditions
Work responsibilities will be performed in and around a pool within a recreational facility. Some work may be done in a standard office environment within the facility. Work may be performed both indoors and outdoors.
Physical Requirements
This position can involve sitting, standing, walking, running, stooping, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling and swimming.
Salary : $13 - $14
